Have you recently transferred with your job from one company to another?

Changing your workplace can be very unsettling!

A new environment, some new faces, and maybe a change to how you work may be challenges you are currently facing or could be facing in the future.

Transfer of Undertakings Protection of Employment (TUPE)

This is the legislation that covers the transfer of your work and you from one company to another.  It covers the responsibilities that both the company transferring you and the company receiving you have to fulfil - and it covers your rights as an employee being transferred.

For example did you know that the TUPE regulations ensure that employees cannot be penalised when they are transferred by being placed on inferior terms and conditions?

Not only are your pre-existing terms and conditions transferred across to your new company on the first day of employment with them, but you cannot be asked to waive these rights.

 

Moving from one employer to another can cause a degree of uncertainty and you may not be sure how things will work out for you with your new employer.
