|
Packages & Express (Parcels) Conference
Motion 108 was carried agreeing that a joint review of PM deliveries takes place as a matter of urgency to ascertain the benefits to the business and as such no agreement to be given to the roll out of PM deliveries until such time as the CWU are satisfied with the results of the review.
Motion 113 was carried agreeing that the use of performance monitors and targets for drivers is not in the best interests of the membership as it both undermines the key flexibility enablers within PFWW and undermines the “adult to adult” approach to getting the job done defined within the Blueprint Agreement. Conference agreed that if any attempt is made to impose such arrangements that the Postal Executive are instructed to consider a Rule 13 Ballot.
Motion 118 was carried agreeing that the process in dealing with charge parcels within Parcelforce Worldwide is not in line with the current agreement, therefore, the Postal Executive are instructed to negotiate an agreement with Parcelforce Worldwide which addresses the issues at depot and hub level.
Motion 122 was carried instructing the Postal Executive that no agreement be given regarding the recent proposed security rules for Parcelforce drivers. Whereby Parcelforce Worldwide propose that any breaches of vehicle security will result in the possibility of termination of contract for a first offence. Conference agreed that the current Parcelforce security rules are sufficient and fair, whereby confirming any breaches of vehicle security may be treated as a dismissible offence.
Motion 131 was carried agreeing that the Postal executive secures an agreement with Worldwide regarding the monthly pay dates for Parcelforce Worldwide grades. It is apparent that monthly paid members are currently adversely affected by pay dates during December and January. Therefore the Postal Executive is instructed to negotiate an agreement which changes the monthly pay date to the 20th of each month.
Royal Mail (Outdoor & Indoor) Conference
Motion 166 was carried noting wholesale collapsing of the outdoor element of deliveries during the summer is not in the best interests of members on delivery. Whether this is on a 1 in 6 or 1 in 10 or other ratio, collapsing and absorbing the outdoor element of deliveries will result in: walks over 3.5 hours town, (4.5 hours rural), delivery span specification; breaking the 14.00 town, (15.00 rural), last letter delivery specification and undermining the health and safety of members. Any attempt by Royal Mail to impose such a practice shall be met with an industrial action ballot of those members affected.
Motion 169 was carried instructing the Postal Executive that an agreement be reached with Royal Mail that they will, as a matter of policy, prosecute all dog attacks taking responsibility away from the individual who was attacked.
Motion 173 was carried agreeing that the total number of fully loaded perstorp boxes to be transported in York containers should be reduced from 28 to 20. This allows for the maximum load of the container being a total weight of 250kg and a maximum box weight of 10kg. |
