The Benefits of CWU Membership

The CWU has negotiated a range of financial benefits exclusive to CWU members.  These include a Personal Loan Scheme and the CWU Platinum Mastercard.

 

 

Representation & Advice

 

Your local branch of the CWU, (the Coventry Area Branch), can provide you with advice on work related issues.  Additionally the branch can provide you with representation at discipline and/or grievance hearings.

The Communication Workers Friendly Society offers a range of simplistic schemes for you and your family.  The Society specialises in providing you with advice to help your money go further and to help you make savings more easily. 

Motoring

 

Motor Breakdown Service

 

The CWU offers an excellent & economic motor breakdown service through its endorsed supplier Autonational Rescue.

 

Insurance

 

Motor, Home, Travel & Pet Insurance

 

UIA Insurance offers CWU members and their families a range of high quality and competitive insurance products.  It is a mutual organisation with over 100 years experience in the trade union sector and a principled ethos that reflects member’s values.

Eye Care

 

The CWU has an agreement with Specsavers to allow CWU members and their family savings on spectacles through their Premium Club.  For example members will be able to save £20 on a pair of glasses from the Specsaver £99 range or above using a single premium club voucher.

Legal Services

 

The CWU provides a comprehensive range of legal services to members.  Dependants may also qualify if they fall within the scope of the scheme.

 

The Legal Services achieves between £25,000,000 and £30,000,000 in compensation on behalf of CWU members through; Drivers Protection Scheme, Appeals for and against Ill Health Retirement, Damaged Vehicles, Medical Negligence Cases, Criminal Injuries Compensation, Claims for Damages – Personal Injury & Industrial Injury Benefit.

 

The CWU also provides access to free legal advice on non work related issues for members.
