Business Transformation 2010 and Beyond – Lump Sum Trigger Points (Friday 20 August 2010)

Further to LTB 648/10 we are in a position to update Branches on trigger point issues.

Delivery Lump Sum Trigger Points – Phased introduction of revisions

Following some enquiries this week, Royal Mail has confirmed that the final £200 lump sum payment linked to the phased introduction of revisions will be paid immediately once the final phase has been implemented and is not linked to any other criteria. As previously stated whether or not local revisions are implemented on a phased basis is a matter for local discussion in line with the industrial relations framework.

Mail Centre Lump Sum Trigger Points

A number of units have now been paid out and the Union is currently awaiting further clarification that will ensure visible transparency of the new measures within all Mail Centres.

A meeting will be held with Royal Mail on the 19th August to progress all outstanding mail centre issues.

National Deployment Group Meeting

The National Deployment Group (NDG) met this week under the auspices of the independent facilitators and received reports covering the general progress of the business transformation agreement across all functions. From these reports it can be seen that both parties continue to move deployment forward. At national level we are working to improve the data that links all revision activity so that we can see where change is being successfully deployed alongside the introduction of the shorter working week and lump sum payments for employees.

Both parties continue to encourage positive engagement at all levels.

Any enquiries on Delivery trigger points should be directed to Bob Gibson, Outdoor Assistant Secretary.  Enquiries on Mail Centre trigger points should be directed to Phil Browne Acting Assistant Secretary.
